Rosa had her first turkey dinner and loved it all. She also made her first steps for me (she walked for daddy before). One thing that puzzles me is that touching her with a little cheese on my hands sometimes lead to the nastiest hives ever, while some other days, I could give her a milk bath without any problem. I don't know what to think about that, and it really drives me half insane. Try to feed a one year old with no dairy, that's not so easy!
Amelia keeps recognizing the word 'pizza' in various settings. She has no idea what the letter P or Z are, but she knows the word. Isn't it how Luca started reading, when he was 3? She keeps insisting that she wants to learn like her big brother, so in the new year, I will have two students. The idea terrifies me, especially since I just started getting into a good routine and the baby is more mobile... Can't wait to see how THAT goes!
Luca started reading "The Lightning Thief" by Rick Riordan, the first book in the 'Percy Jackson and the Olympians' series. He reads it slowly, since it is considerably above his grade level, but asks for help less than a half dozen times for every page, sometimes, not at all. He hasn't completed the first chapter, but if he keeps going like this, he should be reading these books totally on his own within a few weeks. I am shocked how fast he went from "I'm too stupid to read" to "I know this books is a little hard for me, so could you help me please?". Mr is getting more confident, and there is nothing that could make me more happy at the moment!
